* The Federal and Provincial governments have created initiatives to provide relief of up to the full 13% of the HST on qualifying purchases of new homes situated in Ontario, reducing the HST payable by purchasers on the closing of qualifying purchases by up to $130,000. Pursuant to agreements of purchase and sale entered into with purchasers of new homes, the Vendor has agreed to take an assignment of certain initiative(s) for qualifying purchases and eligible purchasers shall, on closing, be credited with the initiative(s) that the Vendor has agreed to take an assignment of. The initiative(s) that the Vendor has agreed to take an assignment of will be set out in the applicable agreements of purchase and sale. Eligibility for HST initiatives is determined by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario. Purchasers are encouraged to review eligibility requirements by consulting the Government of Canada’s and the Province of Ontario’s websites and by obtaining advice from their lawyers and accountants.
