Move-In Ready Condos Near Aldershot GO: Northshore, Burlington, for People Who Commute

If your working week runs through Union Station, the first question about any Burlington condo is not the kitchen. It is how far the platform is. Northshore, National Homes' completed community on Plains Road East in the LaSalle neighbourhood, sits a short drive from Aldershot GO on the Lakeshore West line, and the builder lists it as move-in ready. This is a guide to what that means for a commuter: the station, the trains, the homes, and what is actually finished.

Key takeaways

  • Aldershot GO is at 1199 Waterdown Road, Burlington, on GO Transit's Lakeshore West line, with train and bus service, a VIA Rail connection, and 934 + 705 parking spaces in its two lots, per GO Transit's station page.
  • National Homes lists Northshore as 2 minutes from Aldershot GO and 6 minutes from Burlington GO; those are the builder's figures.
  • Northshore is move-in ready: one-, two- and three-bedroom suites plus penthouses, and bungalow-style garden suites and two-storey terrace townhomes.
  • The Co-working Lounge and Private Boardroom is finished, along with a Fitness Centre and Yoga Studio and a Rooftop Skyview Terrace.
  • Built under HCRA licence B61823. Sales office: 484 Plains Road East, Burlington, 905-333-4445.

Aldershot GO, on the record

Aldershot GO is at 1199 Waterdown Road, Burlington, on the Lakeshore West line. GO Transit's station page lists it as a train and bus station, with a VIA Rail connection and Burlington Transit service, two parking lots (a main lot of 934 spaces and a south lot of 705), reserved and carpool parking, and bike racks.

On service: departure times and frequencies change with each schedule period, so the GO Transit routes and departures page for Aldershot is the authority for any given week. This article does not quote a travel time or a frequency, because the schedule does.

What the commute looks like from Northshore

National Homes lists Northshore as 2 minutes from Aldershot GO, 6 minutes from Burlington GO, and "minutes" from the QEW, 403 and 407. Those are the builder's own figures, and your route will vary with the hour, but the geography is simple: Plains Road East is the LaSalle corridor, and Aldershot GO is the station on that side of the city.

Who this matters to: someone working downtown three or four days a week who would rather read on the train than sit on the QEW. A two-minute drive, or a short ride on Burlington Transit, to a station with all-day parking changes the shape of a day. It also matters to a household with one car. If one partner takes the train, the other keeps the car, and a second vehicle stops being a condition of living in Burlington. And for anyone whose office has gone hybrid, the point is not the daily trip but the option: a station close enough that the commute is a decision, not a burden.

The homes: suites and townhomes

Northshore is two boutique mid-rise condominium buildings and a collection of townhomes. The condominium suites come in one, two and three bedrooms, plus what the builder calls "expansive penthouse residences". The published features list includes 9-foot and 10-foot ceilings (as per plan), quartz kitchen and bathroom countertops, contemporary cabinetry with soft-close doors, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, luxury laminate flooring, balconies, patios or terraces, smart home technology, and individually controlled heating and cooling. National Homes describes it as a "LEED® designed community"; the certification level is not stated.

The townhomes are "a collection of modern bungalow-style garden suites and two-storey terrace townhomes", designed, in the builder's words, "with private entrances, open living spaces and spectacular rooftop patios". The earlier community page lists them as two- and three-bedroom garden and terrace towns.

Who this matters to: a commuter who wants to lock the door and go tends toward a suite, where the building looks after the outside. A commuter with a dog, a bike, or a habit of coming home to a patio tends toward a garden suite or terrace townhome with its own front door. Northshore has both on one site, which is unusual, and it means a couple who disagree about this can still land in the same community.

Finished amenities, and who each one is for

The amenities at Northshore are built, not rendered. The 2026 community page lists a Rooftop Skyview Terrace with outdoor dining, lounges and BBQs; a Fitness Centre and Yoga Studio; a Co-working Lounge and Private Boardroom; a Social Lounge and Party Room; a Chef's Kitchen and Bar; a Dog Wash Station; Smart Parcel Lockers; Bicycle Storage; and Visitor Parking.

Read that list as a commuter and three items stand out. The co-working lounge and boardroom are for the days you do not go in: a desk that is not the kitchen table, and a room to take the call that needs a door. Smart parcel lockers are for the days you do: deliveries that arrive while you are on the train are waiting when you are back, not on a porch. And the fitness centre is for the evening you get home at seven and would not drive to a gym. The rooftop terrace and the party room are the other half of the answer: the reason to stay in Burlington on a Saturday rather than ride back into the city.
