New Home Communities in Brampton, Ontario: DUO on Steeles

National Homes' new home community in Brampton, Ontario today is DUO Condos and Towns: two towers on Steeles Avenue West near Hurontario Street, which we are building with Brixen Developments Inc. DUO continues a record in the city that goes back to 1992. Below, you will find where we have built, what the public registry shows, and what you can check about DUO before you visit.

Key takeaways

  • DUO Condos and Towns: two towers on Steeles Avenue West near Hurontario Street. Sales office: 260 Malta Avenue, 647-270-6293.
  • Transit: we list DUO as "Steps from the Gateway Terminal and Future Hurontario LRT". Metrolinx now calls that line the Hazel McCallion Line and gives no opening date on its project pages.
  • Awards: OHBA Awards of Distinction 2025, High or Mid-Rise Amenity and NAHB The Nationals, Multifamily Community of the Year, presented in February 2026.
  • Our record: "over 1,850 homes in eight communities" in the city since 1992 (our 2021 figure). Per the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory, 757 homes here were enrolled under the umbrella from 2003 to 2024.
  • Details: amenities and floorplans are on duocondos.ca; fees and occupancy come from the sales office.

DUO Condos and Towns today

Our DUO page lists the condos as now selling, and our home page lists DUO as move-in ready, as does our townhomes page for the towns. What is available on a given day is for the DUO sales office at 260 Malta Avenue, 647-270-6293, to confirm.

On location, we list DUO as "Steps from the Gateway Terminal and Future Hurontario LRT", "1-Minute to Sheridan College" and "Walking Distance to Stores and Restaurants". In the words of our DUO page: "The place where parks and schools are within touching distance."

Amenities, sizes, fees and occupancy details are not on nationalhomes.com. The project's site, duocondos.ca, publishes the amenities and has a Floorplans page; for fees and occupancy, ask the sales office.

Gateway Terminal and the Hazel McCallion Line (Hurontario LRT)

The "Future Hurontario LRT" in our location line has a new name. In Metrolinx's words: "Metrolinx is naming the Hurontario light rail transit (LRT) project as the Hazel McCallion Line, to commemorate the former Mississauga mayor." Its project page describes the line as "18km of light rail transit from Port Credit GO to Brampton Gateway Terminal". The City of Brampton lists three stops in the city: "Ray Lawson, County Court and Brampton Gateway Terminal".

On status, Metrolinx writes in the future tense: the line, "once in service", "will feature 19 stops" and connect to GO Transit, ZUM and MiWay, among others. Its updates page speaks of work "as construction continues in Peel Region". No Metrolinx page we read on September 30, 2026 gives an opening date, so we do not give one. If you are planning a commute around the line, check its status with Metrolinx.

DUO's two awards, with the year and the category

You can check both on the awarding bodies' lists.

  • OHBA Awards of Distinction 2025, High or Mid-Rise Amenity. The Ontario Home Builders' Association's 2025 winners release lists, under that category, "National Homes; Brixen Developments Inc. for DUO Condos - Brampton".
  • NAHB The Nationals, Multifamily Community of the Year, presented in February 2026. The National Association of Home Builders' release of February 19, 2026, from its International Builders' Show in Orlando, lists "Project name: DUO Condos", "Location: Brampton, ON, Canada" and "By: National Homes".

Neither award speaks to a particular suite, its price or what is available today.

Where we have built since 1992, by intersection

Our history in the city is older than DUO. In the November 1, 2021 release that launched DUO, as reported by the Daily Commercial News the next day, Jason Pantalone of National Homes said: "Since 1992, we have had the great privilege of contributing to Brampton's growth and evolution, including the development of over 1,850 homes in eight communities." He called DUO "one of the city's first highrise condos".

Our past-communities page lists that work by intersection and home count; the table keeps those figures (lot widths in feet). Only Ravines of Castlemore West is named in the page's text, so the others appear by location.

Source: National Homes, Past Communities (low rise), read September 30, 2026. A dash means we do not repeat a figure for that entry. DUO is added for reference and is not a past community.

Read as a map, the list has a centre of gravity: three entries at or near Airport Road and Sandalwood, a fourth at Torbram Road and Sandalwood, with homes from townhomes to singles on lots up to 80 feet wide. Every past entry here is low-rise, and our past high-rise page lists projects in Toronto and Markham only, so DUO is our one community of condominium towers in the city. You can drive these intersections and see the homes for yourself.

What the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory shows

Ontario's Home Construction Regulatory Authority publishes the Ontario Builder Directory. Per the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory, 757 homes in Brampton were enrolled under the National Homes umbrella between 2003 and 2024, more than in any other city on its list; Burlington is next at 399, of 2,301 enrolments in all.

DUO's condominium project is held under National Brixen (Steeles) Inc., licence B60541. The directory lists one condominium project under that licence, "Duo Condos" at 260 Malta Ave., with the status "Completed", and no chargeable conciliations or claims paid under it.

For the umbrella as a whole, the directory shows 1,397 possessions between 2016 and 2026 (639 freehold and 758 condominium), three chargeable conciliations, two minor claims totalling $80,378.38 and zero major claims. We fetched these figures on September 30, 2026; they may change as the registry updates.

The enrolment list starts in 2003, so it can neither confirm nor contradict our 1992-onward figure; the two measure different things and we keep them apart. The directory is open to anyone: look up National Homes, then the licence that holds the project.

Five checks before you visit a new build

These five checks work for any new build. Here they are, with DUO's answers.

  1. The licence. Find the project in the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory. DUO's condominium project is listed under licence B60541, National Brixen (Steeles) Inc.
  2. The awards. An award should come with a year, a category and the body that gave it, and appear on that body's list. DUO's two are listed above.
  3. The transit. A future line is not a running line. Check its status with the agency building it; for the Hazel McCallion Line, that is Metrolinx.
  4. The tax window. Our Skip the Tax page states: "The HST New Housing Rebate is for One Year Only from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027." It adds: "*Prices reflect estimated values after rebate." DUO is among the three communities whose sales teams the page lists, and our footnote, repeated on the DUO page, reads: "Eligibility for HST initiatives is determined by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario." The government rules are explained in The 2026 HST Rebate on a New Home in Ontario, Explained.
  5. What is available today. Plans, sizes, fees and occupancy change. For DUO, the amenities and a Floorplans page are on duocondos.ca, and the sales office confirms the rest.

Burlington or Brampton: which suits your family?

Neither city is better for every family, and we do not rank them. What we can compare is what we offer in each today.

For a family, the deciding questions are practical: where the adults work, which schools serve the address (the school board confirms this, not us), how many bedrooms you need, and the carrying cost after closing. On the Burlington side, see our Northshore Condos and Towns page and read New Condos in Burlington, Ontario: Move-In Ready at Northshore and Move-In Ready Condos Near Aldershot GO in Burlington.
