Condo Suite or Townhome at Northshore in Burlington

At Northshore, our community on Plains Road East in the LaSalle neighbourhood, National Homes offers two kinds of new home: condominium suites with one, two or three bedrooms, plus penthouses, and townhomes, which come as modern bungalow-style garden suites and two-storey terrace townhomes. If you are weighing new townhomes in Burlington, Ontario against a condo suite, the choice here comes down to three things: the entrance, the outdoor space and the form of the home. The features and the amenities are presented for the community as a whole. Below we set the three home types side by side, help you see which one fits how you live, and list what to ask us about the home you are considering.

Key takeaways

  • Our condominium suites: "one, two and three-bedroom condominium suites, as well as expansive penthouse residences". Our townhomes: "modern bungalow-style garden suites and two-storey terrace townhomes", "Designed with private entrances, open living spaces and spectacular rooftop patios".
  • Entrance, outdoor space and the form of the home are where the home types differ; one features list and one amenity list cover them all, including quartz countertops, Energy Star appliances and a "LEED® designed community".
  • Ask our sales office for the bedroom count, floor area, parking, any locker, tenure and any monthly common expenses of the home you are considering.
  • On record: OHBA Awards of Distinction 2023 Project of the Year - High or Mid-Rise, Northshore (Burlington) and OHBA 2025 Stacked or Back to Back Townhome, Northshore Towns "The North" (Burlington). HCRA licence B61823. Sales office: 484 Plains Road E., 905-333-4445, by appointment.

Our condominium suites and townhomes

Northshore is "Move-In Ready", with condominium suites and townhomes on one site.

The condominium suites. You can choose from thoughtfully designed one, two and three-bedroom condominium suites, as well as expansive penthouse residences with generous living spaces and elevated finishes throughout. We designed each one to make the most of natural light, functionality and style, with open-concept layouts, private outdoor spaces and designer-selected finishes.

The townhomes. Northshore also offers a collection of modern bungalow-style garden suites and two-storey terrace townhomes, designed with private entrances, open living spaces and rooftop patios.

A naming note: at Northshore a "garden suite" is one of our two townhome types, not a condominium suite. Below, the word "suite" by itself means a condominium suite.

Which home fits you

  • If you want a private entrance, look at our townhomes, either a garden suite or a terrace townhome: they are "Designed with private entrances".
  • If you would rather avoid stairs inside your home, ask how many levels the specific garden suite or terrace townhome has, and see its plan before you decide.
  • If you want a home on two storeys, look at the two-storey terrace townhomes.
  • If outdoor space matters most, compare the private outdoor spaces of the condominium suites with the rooftop patios of our townhomes, and see the outdoor space of the specific home on your visit.

What every home at Northshore shares

These features are listed for Northshore as a whole:

  • Contemporary cabinetry with soft-close doors
  • Stainless steel Energy Star appliances
  • Luxury laminate flooring throughout

The amenities are part of the community: the Rooftop Skyview Terrace with Outdoor Dining, Lounges & BBQs, the Fitness Centre & Yoga Studio, the Co-working Lounge & Private Boardroom, the Social Lounge & Party Room, the Chef’s Kitchen & Bar, the Dog Wash Station, Smart Parcel Lockers, Bicycle Storage and Visitor Parking. Ask our sales office how access and any fees work for the home type you choose.

The finished amenity spaces are covered in our article on Northshore's move-in ready suites and finished amenities.

Are the townhomes at Northshore freehold?

If you are searching for freehold townhomes, ask our Northshore sales office how the specific townhome you are considering is owned and what its monthly common expenses are, if any, and read the agreement of purchase and sale with a real estate lawyer before you sign.

For the condominium suites, the Condominium Authority of Ontario's description of buying a condo applies: "When you buy a condo unit you purchase a share of the common elements and are responsible for their maintenance through your share of common expenses paid to the corporation."

Our licence and our record

National Homes was founded in 1992 and is based in Concord, Ontario. The HCRA licence linked from our Northshore community page is B61823, held by "National Homes GP (Plains Road) Inc., as general partner of and on behalf of National Homes (Plains Road) LP", per the HCRA Ontario Builder Directory, where you can look it up before you choose. The two awards in the key takeaways are on record at the Ontario Home Builders' Association (OHBA).

What to ask us about a specific home

  • Ownership. How the home is owned, as set out in the agreement of purchase and sale.
  • Bedrooms, size and levels. The bedroom count, floor area and number of storeys of the plan.
  • Outdoor space. Balcony, patio, terrace or rooftop patio, and how large.
  • Parking and storage. The parking and any locker that come with the home.
  • Monthly costs. What you pay each month apart from the mortgage, including any share of common expenses.
  • Features. Which of the listed features are in that home.

Read the agreement of purchase and sale with a real estate lawyer before signing. For a pre-construction condominium, the Condominium Authority of Ontario lists documents that builders provide and that buyers should review with a lawyer, the Disclosure Statement among them; ask us which of them apply to a move-in ready home.

On tax: Northshore is part of our "Skip the Tax" campaign, and the HST New Housing Rebate offer runs "for One Year Only from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027". *Prices reflect estimated values after rebate. What the two governments' rebates provide, and who qualifies, is set out in our guide to the HST rebate on a new home in Ontario.

Seeing both on one visit

Our Northshore sales office is at 484 Plains Road E., and tours are by appointment at 905-333-4445. You can tour the finished amenity spaces and our designer decorated model homes. Because both home types are on one site, ask to see a suite and a townhome on the same visit.

If you will commute by train, our article on move-in ready condos near Aldershot GO covers the station.
